Educational programs for children and adults

The Sunnyside Muslim Center offers Islamic education programs taught by Sheikh Yousuf. All programs are open to the broader community — contact us to register or for more information.

Quran Recitation Classes

Sheikh Yousuf welcomes students of all ages and experience levels to learn the proper recitation of the Quran (Tajweed). Whether you are a beginner or looking to refine your recitation, this weekly class provides a supportive environment to grow in your practice.

Halaqa (Islamic Studies)

🕑 Every Friday, 6:30 PM 👥 All ages welcome ✓ Free

Weekly class open to all ages, covering Fiqh, Hadith, and Seerah. Join us as we seek beneficial knowledge together.

After-School Program

🕑 Mon–Thu, 5:00–7:00 PM 👦 Ages 6+ 💰 $75 / month

An after-school program for boys and girls ages 6 and up. Under the guidance of Sheikh Yousuf, students learn:

  • Quran recitation and memorization
  • The Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
  • Good character and Islamic manners
  • Islamic history

The program runs Monday through Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The monthly fee is $75. Financial assistance is available for families who need it — no child should be turned away due to cost.
